Hello! And thanks for reading our “disclaimers.” We searched for another more optimistic sounding word, but “disclaimers” appears to be the most appropriate title for this page.
First of all, we are a positive, no nonsense organization made up of independent practitioners. That means, we are not subject to profit-driven owners or supervisors. We are beholden to our clients and our ethics. Our goal is to help clients alleviate emotional suffering through counseling. Some of our clients choose to augment their progress with medication, such as antidepressants, which a medical doctor prescribes (Dr. Scot DePue, M.D. is part of our organization and can be consulted). It is our ethical responsibility to refer any client to other clinicians if we cannot provide the clinical services necessary. We will help you find a suitable clinician if we can.
Secondly, our web site is designed for information, not primary advertising. We try to keep our website simple and informative, but if anything is misleading, we will do our best to correct and/or clarify. We place little effort into advertising because we have always been able thrive with minimal advertising, and our training is not in marketing. Our focus is always on providing quality and ethical counseling services to the communities we serve.
We do not provide emergency services, sliding scales, or free consultations, and all appointments are scheduled in advance. We also do not solicit influential posts and we do not pay corporations to keep negative comments off the internet. Much information on the internet was posted without our consent; for example Bizapedia and Yelp have both posted untrue and false information.
Lastly, a word on medical insurance companies; We do our best to work with medical insurance companies that have complex and ever changing demands on providers such as ourselves. The best course of action is to familiarize yourself with your medical insurance benefits before you begin any counseling services. You pay for your medical insurance, so make it work best for you by familiarizing yourself; Call the 800 number on the back of your medical insurance card, ask if any practitioner here takes your insurance, ask how much your deductible and copay are currently.
